We explore the fundamentals of yoga learning how to breathe and move deeply from within.
Movements are light with the goal of building strength, balance, flexibility and inner peace.

For students of all levels. Practice developing balance, flexibility & strength.
Modifications on poses are offered for varying levels.
Movements are light with the goal of building strength, balance, flexibility and inner peace.

SLOW FLOW
Still a bit challenging but slower flowing.
Slow flow is comprised of fewer postures than a regular Vinyasa with more emphasis on alignment, breath and foundational tools of yoga practice

YOGA PILATES FUSION
Experience a dynamic blend of yoga with Pilates core work.
Follow your breath with this flowing approach designed to increase strength and flexibility, improve posture, reduce stress and transform your body.

YIN YOGA
Yin yoga helps stretch the connective tissues of the body.
The practice is quiet and passive with quality of stillness in which the poses are held for a longer period of time.
A very meditative and calming practice that allows your awareness of breath to be directed to a particular part of the body.
Yin yoga helps keep your joints mobile and helps regulate the flow of energy in the body.

RESTORATIVE YOGA
A gentle meditative practice using props to fully support the body in each pose, allowing the body to completely relax, revitalize and restore energy and release tension.
Beneficial to students of any level and anyone who desires a more gentle yoga experience. All props will be provided. You can bring your own eye mask. Wear comfortable clothing.

GENTLE YOGA
A perfect blend of breath, movement, stretch and a chance to let go and relax.
A peaceful, inviting class designed for anyone looking for a slower paced practice. Focus is on body awareness linking mindful breathing with simple movements.

TAI CHI FLOW

Bring everything you will need to class: yoga mat, towel, water, etc. and please remember to hydrate before and after class.

VIN YIN YOGA
A rhythmic flow complemented by Yin yoga. Yin yoga features seated and reclining poses, which when held passively for 1-3 minutes, target the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis and lower spine.

class preparation, etiquette & FAQs
Who Can Practice Yoga?
Yoga guru, Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois so eloquently says, “If you can move and you can breathe, then you can practice yoga. There is only one man that cannot practice yoga, and that is ‘lazy man’.” We can’t emphasize that enough.
Which Class Should I Take First?
If you are new to yoga, then you may want to begin by taking at least one Basic/Beginners class, and then decide on your progression from there. Please see the class descriptions above for more help on this topic.
How Do I Sign Up for My First Class?
All students, new and current, must pre-register for all classes due to the temporary limitations on class sizes. Please pre-register through MindBody, our Santosha Yoga branded app or the MindBody app on your devices. You can always go old school and call us with any questions.
What Should I Bring to Class?
You can bring your own props – yoga mat, blankets, blocks, etc. to class.
However we do have everything that you might need available for use. We also have mats and props you may need available for purchase at Santosha Yoga.
We also recommend you bring an open heart and open mind and don’t forget to breathe!
Check in at the Front Desk
Please make sure you stop at the front desk before you breeze by and make sure they have acknowledged you and have your correct name.
Come with an Empty Stomach.
Try to avoid eating a meal at least two hours before class. Digestion requires tremendous energy and can greatly interfere with your practice. It is a good idea to drink plenty of water throughout the day, not just before class.
We Need to Know
Let the teacher know if there are any health or special situation issues you are dealing with, specifically pregnancy, injuries or recent surgeries.
Be Fragrance Free
Avoid wearing perfume or other scented products to class as some students may be allergic to strong fragrances.
Arrive on Time
Try to arrive at least 10 minutes early so that you have time to relax and become centered.
Hands On/Hands Off (Post Covid 19)
Currently teachers will not be using any type of hands on adjustments
No Cell Phones in the Practice Room
They are simply not allowed in the yoga practice room at all. We must have some boundaries in our lives and this is one that we feel very strongly about. If you cannot go an hour without your cell phone, then perhaps this is not the hour to do yoga.
Listen to Your Body
Take breaks when you need to take breaks. Back off when you need to back off. Find a child’s pose. Go get water. Whatever it takes. On the other hand, know when you’re just hanging out in a pose and not pushing your body towards something bigger and adjust accordingly.
Be Invested
Invest in your practice and yourself and purchase your own “sticky” mat (available for purchase at the studio). It will help you commit to your practice, make you feel special (which you are) and much more hygienic
Have Fun
This is totally a rule. You are required to have some fun here. Don’t take yourself or your practice too seriously. Play around. Try something new. Laugh at yourself. Lighten your load. That’s the whole point.
Never Leave During Shavasana. Ever. Period.
Shavasana is a sacred time. It’s the reason we practice. It’s the cherry atop our little yoga sundae. It’s important for you to stay.
For First-timers
Please create an account for yourself. You will also need to complete a waiver. This form will will need to be printed, filled out and brought to the studio on your first visit.
